The GVFB decided to create a larger, more inclusive challenge to engage more key stakeholders and community members. By expanding the challenge to welcome more than just the city mayors, the GVFB can increase community involvement and grow fundraising efforts.

You can choose a city to donate to or you can donate to the overall campaign! By donating to a specific city, you are helping that city increase its odds of winning the Spring Food Bank Challenge. All money donated to the challenge will go towards helping GVFB clients in need.

Yes, all donors will receive an emailed tax receipt.

To enter to win tickets to Foodstock, no donation is necessary! All you need to do is signup through the link (ADD LINK). After the Spring Challenge has ended, 50 residents in the winning region (the area that raises the most money per capita) will be selected to win a pair of tickets to Foodstock - A Food Bank Fundraiser Festival! Taking place on Sunday, June 23rd,  Foodstock is a one-day festival event featuring Yukon Blonde and The Matinee on stage, as well as local breweries and wineries, local artisans, food trucks, and yard games at Swangard Stadium! Foodstock is a 19+ event. No minors allowed.

The GVFB provides assistance to approximately16,000 individuals monthly across Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, and the North Shore. Our clients include adults, seniors, children, and families that are experiencing food insecurity.

Food insecurity applies to individuals, couples and families who cannot afford the quality and quantity of food they need to avoid hunger. This can range from having to buy exclusively low-cost/low-nutrition foods or simply not being able to.

All GVFB clients must register to pick up food from the GVFB. We do our best to ensure only those experiencing food insecurity can access our services. Read more on the GVFB registration page
